IPG worked with the City of Valdosta to completely redesign an existing city park to include upgrades, new amenities, and handicapped accessibility. Saunders Memorial Park is an ideal space for large gatherings as it houses 6 covered picnic shelters that are available for rent. The largest one holds up to 150 people. Every shelter features electricity and a designated grill. A paved walking nature trail leads from the shelters through a beautiful shaded wooded area. The park also includes two regulation-sized outdoor basketball courts, a splash pad, a playground, and an amphitheater complete with electricity and stage lights that can seat hundreds of people.

In conjunction with the City of Tifton Main Street Program, IPG designed this infill element with detailing complimentary to adjacent historical buildings. The Gateway serves as a continuation of the street façade; a pocket park in the heart of downtown; & an accessible connection between off-street parking and Main Street via a serpentine walkway through the property. The Tifton Main Street Gateway has become a rally point along the streetscape, hosting special events including, parties, music artists, and exhibits.

The Boys and Girls Club campus improvements occurred over the course of several phases. The first phase featured the construction of a new 23,000 SF Administrative/Classroom Unit which included offices, a cafeteria, classrooms, a multi-purpose room, and game rooms. This building serves as the anchor for the activities and services that the Boys and Girls Club provides to the youths of the community. The second phase featured a new 8,200 SF gymnasium to replace the old gymnasium which had become unsuitable for use. The new gymnasium will provide an indoor space for the Boys and Girls Club athletics program for many years to come. The third phase of the project featured an extensive renovation of the Teen Center, one of the original buildings on the campus. Updates to this 9,300 SF structure included modernization of the restrooms, the creation of an activities space and a study lounge space, as well as classrooms and a recording studio for area teens to utilize. Finally, the site itself was given an update with a new pool area (including a zero-depth entry kids’ pool as well as a lap pool for swimming instruction), a re-graded football field with a new press box and bleachers, and a new parking lot.
