This project included a new Courthouse and Jail. The three-story, 153,000 SF Courthouse features an open interior atrium the full height of the building. Juvenile, Magistrate, and Probate Courtrooms are on the main floor. The second floor has two Superior and two State Courtrooms. The third floor includes four additional courtrooms and includes office spaces. A single, public entry through the atrium allows access to courtrooms, offices, and public spaces, while a controlled side entrance for judges provides access to court support spaces without exposure to public circulation areas. Inmate access from the Jail to the courthouse is via a secure, underground tunnel with elevator access from the tunnel directly to secure holding spaces. Holding spaces then connect directly to courtrooms, thus eliminating inmate contact with the public or judges.

IPG provided design and construction administration for this new 51,221 SF, 160 bed jail/law enforcement facility in Forsyth, Georgia. The program for the structure encompasses complete housing facilities, including food service operation, laundry, and medical accommodations. In addition, the facility provides law enforcement needs in the form of judiciary facilities, including hearing rooms.

This new 29,662 SF facility houses the sheriff's offices, a hearing room, a laundry and traditional support spaces. The facility houses 178 inmates in the following arrangement:

4-Bed Minimum Security: 68 Beds

2-Bed Minimum Security: 12 Beds

2-Bed Maximum Security: 12 Beds

1-Bed Isolation: 6 Beds

Jail Beds: 98 Beds

Work Release Dorms: 80 Beds
