IPG worked with the owners of Georgia Beer Company and the Valdosta - Lowndes County Development Authority on the transformation of Valdosta’s 100-year-old waterworks building into a craft-beer brewery and event space. This 7,050 SF renovation brought the first brewery to South Georgia. IPG worked to design this brewery by adhering to the importance of highlighting the history while bringing in aspects of a fresh industrial feel. By selecting materials by their appropriateness to this historical adaptation, IPG was able to balance the old with the new. The project was reviewed and approved by the Valdosta Historic Preservation Commission.

This project included a lead paint abatement; historically, accurate window installations; bricked-in openings were removed and restored with period-correct window replacements; new roof; demolition of existing concrete floor and replaced with a new level slab; built-in tasting counter; new water, sewer, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical; commercial walk-in cooler; new working office, public restrooms, and storage.

Interior Studio

IPG's office facility features strong ties to the company’s history and a purposeful vision for its future. It was designed to provide space for a rapidly growing staff, which reflects and builds upon the open office environment created in the company’s original facility designed in 1979. With no hierarchy of spaces, workstations are uniformly designed regardless of position or status within the firm, thus fostering open communication and unity among the staff. Common workspaces are abundant within the open studio, with senior staff members interacting with interns sharing ideas and providing guidance. With a mezzanine level open to the studio area, upper and lower levels interact as well. The north-facing glass curtain wall floods the studio with soft northern light and provides a strong visual connection to the exterior. Visitors are welcomed to the facility through a basket-weave brick parking area which transitions up to the main entrance. Expansion of the facility, currently at 6,653 SF, can be extended from the east elevation.
