IPG provided design for a new Social Security Administration office in Montgomery, Alabama. The site is an undeveloped parcel with natural low vegetation and some scattered trees. This facility has major presence in the community. Vehicular access from adjacent side streets provides inherent increased security with separate site access points for employees and the public. From their separate parking areas, the public and employees can also access separate entrance points on opposite sides of the building. All parking and vehicular areas are set back from the building exterior by a landscape buffer 25 feet wide (minimum). Accessible parking spaces are located close to both main entrances. A lighted facility sign complimenting the building façade and a lighted flagpole are located prominently on the public side of the building. Lawn areas are landscaped to comply with local ordinances using LEED credited indigenous plants and irrigation systems.
